Along my journey I have experienced 3 Ways to find my voice when Trauma had silenced my authenticity. Those three significant ways to unmute my voice was journaling, therapy and creative expression. Her journey has led her to the most profound of the three, (Creative Expression) which for her it is PUBLIC SPEAKING. Sharing her story has been both liberating and rewarding to her allowing her good health, wealth and most of all the ability to help liberate other Women and Girls Sexual Sexual Assault Survivors, through her EMT Approach. (Empower, Motivate and Transform).
Erie Patton is an Expert transformational Speaker, an Author, a Community organizer, and a certified Mental Health Coach. For many years she has been a community activist, Erie served for six years as NAACP President and director of youth programs. As a community advocate she has advocated for youth that have been sexually violated. She assisted in bringing perpetrator’s to justice. Her target audience are sexual assault survivors of Trauma and those that advocate on behalf of trauma survivors. Ms. Patton became an author in 2017 after publishing her book. A testimonial, “Living In The Shadows, Life After Rape and Incest.” Patton has implemented Master classes and other transformational programs such as, “Grow your own teachers initiative,” financial sustainability and cultural awareness initiatives for youth and adults.
Erie Patton was born September 9, 1955, in Mount Vernon, Illinois, the second child of six siblings. At age 3, she experienced a traumatic life altering event. At age 4 and throughout her formative years, she took care of her siblings including her older brother, who is one year older. Out of that life experience Patton’s passion for caring for others was birthed. During her elementary school years she enjoyed being a Girl Scout which increased her compassion to care for and serve others. Her life changed drastically after her formative years;
· Raped at 3 years old by a neighbor.
· Raped at 13 by a family member.
· Having a child at 15 years old.
· Became clinically depressed.
· Raped at 25 years old.
· Married for 39 years.
· Mother of four lovely daughters.
· Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Religion.
· Earned a Master's degree in theological studies.
· Ordained Pastor.
· Served for 6 years, as the first female NAACP President in hometown.
· Established the first Juneteenth Organization in her home town in 2002.
· Experienced the death of her husband after 39 years of marriage.
Having overcome such horrific life challenges beginning at an early age, Erie Patton found her purpose. She is using her journey and the pain she endured, to help others realize they too can find their purpose and live a productive fulfilled life.
Patton is available for public speaking at women conferences, workshops, seminars, etc., as well as sponsoring Master classes and other transformational events that will transform the lives of Women and Girls that are willing to do the work to fulfill their God given purpose. Her target audience are Women and Girls that are survivors of Trauma specifically sexual Trauma.
